Last weekend, we went to the Double JJ Ranch. The kids had a blast! It was perfect for their ages. I actually got Lydia to go down a slide on a double tube with me. She LOVED it, but wouldn't go down any other slides. There were three other ones, but she was afraid of the "unknown." We continued to stick to the slide that was comfortable. When not going down the slide, Lydia and Ava played in the wave pool. on the splash pad, and in the hot tub. They enjoyed swimming to the other half of the hot tub that was outside (you had to go through a door). The waterpark tired them out so much that they slept great at night. The next day we were treated to a delicious breakfast buffet. Then we went back to the waterpark to play. We left Double JJ around 2 p.m. (nap time). We had a wonderful time and would definitely go back again! It was so nice because it wasn't that far away.

Isaac is babbling so much more these days. He loves to stand against things and is getting up on all four knees. Then he pushes himself forward to his stomach or rolls to get to where he wants to go. He is also starting to push up on his back legs so that they straighten out. He loves to eat! His favorites are the fruits and orange vegetables. He is not crazy about the greens. He has even started gumming baby cereal puffs even though he has no teeth yet:) We see subtle signs of teething, but there is nothing to show for it.

Lydia continues to be the other "mother" in the house. Not only is she changing nearly all of Isaac's diapers and clothes, but she is starting to change Ava's diaper as well and reads to her at naptime. On one hand it's so nice because I can get a few things done but on the other hand, if I prefer to feed Isaac, Lydia flips out. She has even started putting him in his carseat and strapping him in. Lydia continues to amaze us with her thinking. While we were riding to preschool yesterday morning, I was explaining to her that Daddy might have to drop her off on Monday because I had a dentist appointment. She was very excited about this because Daddy has never seen her preschool. Then she says, " Daddy may have to put that screen on his window to help him get there...you know...I think it's called a GPS? Then he will know how to get there."

Ava is always thinking of others. She helps clear the table and I often find her standing next to the sink on the counter after meals with the water on trying to wash the dishes. While eating dinner at Double JJ, we decided to move to the next booth because Paul said his booth was uncomfortable. Much to our surprise, Ava had all four wrapped sliverware in her hand from the first booth as she proceeded to climb into the next booth where we moved. Such a sweetheart! However she does have a love-hate relationship with her sister. Lydia has ended up with several pinch/scratch marks over her face and legs. Ava only uses this defense with her sister out of frustration. We are working on establishing some different coping strategies:)
