Here are some small moments from summer...Ava learning to drink from a juice box and Lydia with her best catch of the summer.
Summer is over, and the cooler weather is near. I must say, I am beginning to like the cooler weather. It's better for sleeping, playing outside, and being in a classroom with 26 other bodies. A lot has happened since the last posting. Last weekend we went up north for Labor Day weekend. Yes, once again Ava was ill. She started displaying the same symptoms as her prior ear infection...fever, tired, inactive, inconsolable. We decided on Saturday it would be best to bring her home to G.R. to see the doctor. We would all rest and recover better at home. We went to the GRAPES clinic in G.R. where her doctor happened to be working. Paul actually took her and her ears were, in fact, clear. The doctor heard her wheezing (which she also had with the ear infection) and decided to test her oxygen saturation levels. They were low, fluctuating between 88-89. So, Paul had to give her a ten minute Albuterol breathing treatment. He said it was complete torture to try to hold her down for ten minutes. After that, the diagnosis was upper respiratory infection with possible pneumonia. She was put on Prednisone and Amoxycillin and prescribed an inhaler just in case she started wheezing again. Another exciting weekend with Ava:) Thankfully, we didn't have to use the inhaler, and she is back to herself.

We spent Monday in Grand Haven. Lydia said the cutest thing while we were going into the bathroom. There was a guy coming out with tattoos all over his body. Lydia said (not in a whisper), "Oh mom, look! He has stamps all over him." Doesn't that just bring a smile to your face? Kids have such a way of just making your day.

School is going well. We are slowly getting into the routine. The kids are transitioning smoothly and Lydia LOVES being at daycare with the other kids. She and I continue to work on her Zoo Phonics. She is working on M and N. I don't know if my other child will be this enthusiastic about learning "lessons." More small moments from summer to come as I upload them to the computer.
